“You lying bitch I’ll…I’ll…just wait,” she said, trying to gulp down her sobs, visibly shaken, “you’re wrong that will never happen! We love one another and – “
“I am never wrong“ I interrupted, “The threads of destiny have unraveled, but you still clutch at the frayed ends.”
That was too much for her. She bolted for the door almost in hysterics bumping into Eric in her haste to get away from the classroom, to get away from me. I sigh.
“What’s up with Daphne?” Eric said conversationally, as he plopped down on the seat so recently occupied by my friend. Well I hope we’re still friends.

The Light Train moves steadily through the night.
The swaying of the cars lull her into a sense of calm slows her frantic thoughts. A memory bubbles up. Why did she remember him and nothing else?
"Zephyr " she whispers. Why did the name sound so familiar?
Only one thing was certain. She had to see this journey to the end. She must pass through the gates. Only then will her questions be answered. Only then will she see if it was worth going back to. Going back? Had she been here before?
Her thoughts are cut off by the hissing of the brakes. She has arrived.
She gingerly gets up, and slowly exits the train on to a sort of train station. There are grass growing between the cracks and ivy climbed lazily on the columns. The roof had caved in some places where she could glimpse an evening sky, with the moon being a silver streak surrounded by stars in strange constellation. As she observes her surroundings a voice comes from the shadows.

He grinned. His sunglasses off, it was obvious that his eyes couldn't focus. “If I'm being totally honest, I'm still wondering how I should imagine you.” He reached a hand out, placing it on her shoulder, and tried to run it up to her face to feel the features there.
She gently pushed it away. “I'm nervous,” she said.
“You shouldn't be,” he said. “It's hard enough finding a woman who's understanding about what it means to be with a blind man, let alone someone as interesting as you. Whatever you're scared of, it can't be enough to give us trouble.”
Still she hesitated. “I'm not so sure sure about that...” She chewed her lip thoughtfully while the snakes on her head swayed.
